What does Figure Formatting include?

Our Figure Formatting service is intended to help you present your figures in a professional, attractive way that meets either the public guidelines posted by your target journal or additional guidelines that you provide along with your figure files.

Our team will make changes that do not impinge on authorship and may suggest other changes that can only be made by an author.

Figure formatting, purchased separately for each figure to be formatted, includes the following:
  1. Updating font type, size, and color
  2. Color space (RGB or CMYK) and color scheme
  3. Resolution
  4. File type
  5. Line weight
  6. Spacing and borders
  7. Shading (if applicable)
  8. Layout
  9. Text alignment
  10. Stylistic enhancements
    1. Professional appearance, including changes like slightly rounded corners of boxes
    2. Visual appeal, including spacing between elements within a figure
    3. Resizing of arrows, lines, and other elements for which size does not affect the content

Figure formatting DOES NOT include review of the figure content, re-creation or re-drawing from scratch, placing figures within the manuscript, or language editing of the figure text.
