How do I change the name of my target journal for formatting?

If you plan to submit your manuscript to a new target journal, we recommend purchasing another round of Manuscript Formatting to ensure that your manuscript matches the submission guidelines of your new journal.

Re-editing and Manuscript Formatting Required for Previous Order

If you previously purchased Premium or VIP Editing and Manuscript Formatting and need to have your manuscript re-edited and reformatted, please find instructions in "How do I get free re-editing for my Premium or VIP Editing order?"

Only Manuscript Formatting for a New Target Journal Needed

If you previously purchased Premium or VIP Editing and Manuscript Formatting and require only another round of Manuscript Formatting, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your AJE account.
  2. Find the correct order on your account home page and click on the "Submit for a Free Re-edit" link.Submit for a Free Re-edit.png
  3. On the Get Started page, please select the reason(s) for your rework request and upload the file(s) to be re-edited. In addition to your manuscript, you can upload your responses to the reviewers and journal cover letter. We will edit everything at the same time. Once you have selected your reason(s) and uploaded your files, click on the Next Step button. 

  4.  On the next page, please confirm the language ("English"), enter the word count of your manuscript, and then click the Confirm Details button.

  5. On the Manuscript Services page, please scroll down past the rework service options, and click on the checkbox next to "I do not want additional language revision". When you are ready, click the Next Step button.

  6. On the Additional Services page, simply click on the "Re-formatting" button before clicking the Next Step button. To ensure that this reformatting option is selected, please note the blue checkmark in the bottom right-hand corner of the light blue box, as pictured below. Please note that an additional round of Manuscript Formatting costs $75, but discounts in your cart may reflect a charge of less than $75. Additional_Services_Screenshot_2023.png
  7. On the Order Details page, please enter the new target journal name and URL. Journal_Information_Screenshot.png

  8. Click Next Step to proceed to the Payment Details page and complete your order.

Incorrect journal information for an order currently in progress

If you accidentally provided us with the wrong journal information and your order is currently in progress, please contact us at support@aje.com as soon as possible, and provide the correct journal name and URL so that we can immediately update the formatting team's instructions.

If you would like to change your journal information prior to contacting us (or at any other time), please take the following steps:

  1. Log in to your AJE account.
  2. Find the existing order on your account home page and click on the title of your order.Order_name_1.png
  3. Click on the "Edit This Order" button in the bottom right corner.Edit_order_1.png
  4. Type in the name of your new target journal and copy and paste the journal's URL into the appropriate field. Click the "Save Changes" button in the bottom right corner to preserve this new journal information. Change_journal_name_1.png
  5. Contact support@aje.com to let us know that you have updated this information. We will ensure that the formatting team is aware of this update.
